A visit to Jose Karlo

One of the things that my wife and I usually do is go to a coffee shop and unwind. Reading some magazines, talking about anything while sipping coffee. This time we tried Jose Karlo.

The target

Jose Karlo’s Coffee. It is located along Juan Luna corner Zamora Streets across Sto. Niño Church, Tacloban City.

The Services

Their prices is comparatively cheaper than their competitors, but their limited WiFi offer is a disadvantage if you want a long period of connectivity to the Internet. They only offer one hour limited WiFi connection for every customer, and you need to secure an access card available after purchase before you get connected.

They also have computers for rent in case you want to surf the net but you do not have the laptop. But I guess you have to pay per hour for it. (I did not ask)

The Place

What I like in Jose Carlo is the interior design. It is unique and has an antique-like theme. I guess it is an ancestral home converted into a coffee shop. You have the choice to stay inside (ground floor or 2nd floor) and be cool with the air conditioner or stay outside and feel the natural breeze of air. Very nice place. Very much commendable.

Service Crew

The people behind the desk are not so accommodating. The cashier always plays the farm game on facebook! Service style is self-service. This means that you have to go up and down the stairs if you are at the second floor and you want to buy something.
