Elin Nordegren is planning on making some changes before the year is out. A close friend tells PEOPLE, “She plans to leave Tiger,” her husband of 5-years, and father of her two children.

“She’s made up her mind. There’s nothing to think about: he’s never going to change,” PEOPLE reports in its upcoming issue, on newsstands Friday.

Pictures made the rounds this week showing Elin not wearing a ring, and pumping gas in her car, making sure to masquerade the chaos and the inner turmoil sources say plague the young mother of two due to her husband’s continuous infidelity.

Not to be taken lightly in her actions, a high-profile Florida divorce attorney tells PEOPLE that the former nanny has met lawyers to renegotiate the Woods’ prenuptial agreement.

The holidays will be a difficult time for the family as they distance themselves from eachother. As for Tiger, he will spend the holidays on his 135-foot yacht, ironically named Privacy. “He needs to clear his head for a while,” says a friend. “He needs to process everything.”

“[She] is hurt, angry and disappointed in Tiger,” the friend says, “She wants to know how he could do this to his family.”

“It was devastating to her. She likes Elin, and adores her grandchildren. She’s worried about them. She doesn’t want to see them hurt,” says the family friend.

But the mother of the famous golfer has not given up or turned her back on her son, “She loves him and will support him through anything, but she needs some time to work through this.”

Although she lives in California she is known to spend weeks with her sons family, and is very close to her daughter-in-law.

As for her son, a source says that Tiger is staying with a friend and will be spending the holidays on his 135-foot yacht, ironically named Privacy. “He needs to clear his head for a while,” says the friend. “He needs to process everything.”
