Repetitive Creation of Email Accounts on Gmail

Posted on September 23 2009 by zemog

One day I had a task of creating numerous email accounts on gmail. I thought that task would be very simple.  After creating 10 accounts my problem starts. First it stops me from creating additional accounts! It blocks me to proceed because they thought I am a spam. Well I guess I am :D

After a few hours I was able to continue with my work. But then google put the annoying verification page :(

You have to put your cellphone number and wait for the verification code that google will send. Aside from being annoying, you will also be p**sed off because you can only use your number 10 times.

This reminds me. When I was an instructor I used to ask my student during laboratory class to create their email accounts. With this type of security that gmail is imposing, teachers can no longer do this in the laboratory room.

I believe that gmail is doing this to discourage people from creating (spamming) fictitious email accounts. I guess there is nothing we can do about this. Don’t you think?
